This autumn’s work party had a particularly energetic, get-things-done spirit. Coordinator Vladimír Čadil especially appreciated the strong turnout and everyone’s hard work. We restored the clubhouse to its former glory and prepared firewood for the coming season.
The time trial followed a similar pattern. Swimmers, including newcomers, achieved some very good times — an encouraging sign for the future.
The closing campfire did not disappoint either. We had a wonderful time roasting sausages, accompanied by Michal Kohoutek’s guitar and the I. PKO “choir”. New swimmer Markéta deserves special mention: her rendition of the Hussite hymn “Ktož sú boží bojovníci” — “Ye Who Are Warriors of God” — was absolutely magnificent. A performance like that before every race would probably leave our opponents utterly demoralised. There is no denying it: we are the nation of Jan Žižka of Trocnov!
