The Season’s Final Cold-Water Races in Nová Paka

“Čeření Bahňáku” in Nová Paka once again lived up to expectations, with a wonderful atmosphere despite the April weather. The winter season said goodbye with a cold wind, heavy rain, wet snow and chilly sunshine; water was 7°C and air 4°C. It was an exceptional finale for I. PKO’s turnout too: a record 47 of our swimmers competed. Petr Tomášek took an excellent third place over 750 metres in the season’s final race.

After swimming, everyone enjoyed the traditional goulash and bread before eagerly awaiting the overall results of the 2011/2012 winter season — an exceptionally successful one for I. PKO. That season is now history; we can look forward to the next and hope it will be at least as successful, or better still.
