On Saturday 28 November 2009, Bolevecký Pond in Plzeň hosted the eighth round of the Czech Winter Swimming Cup. Alongside the usual points, teams competed for the Mayor of Plzeň’s Challenge Cup.
Conditions were slightly windy, with water at 5.3°C and air at 8°C. The longest course was 1,000 metres. Against strong opposition, particularly from the hosts and Brno, we fielded four swimmers over 100 metres, seven over 250, five over 500, fifteen over 750 and three over 1,000. We defended last year’s title, bringing the challenge cup back to Prague.
